Dubai’s First Video Commercial Film Festival was held at Lorenzo studio last March 16 & 17, 2006.  Festival was supported by professional UAE Medias and interested individuals from different companies in the film industry.

On the first day, more than 6 TV commercials were presented from Freelancer Film Producers up to the Professional Production companies.  The juries selected 10 clips for best TV commercial and awarded prizes to the winners.

Being hospitable is one of the assets that Dubaifilm had.  Providing entertainment to the audience by inviting well known entertainers to give lively atmosphere in the glorious event and preparing delicious light meal for the crowd are the highlights of the event.  Dubaifilm aims to introduce itself to the media industry as well as to the public and to promote cooperation between Freelancers, Professional Film Industries, Film Producers and TV stations.  The company collected the TV commercial and music clips from amateurs to professionals as entries for the First Video Commercial Film Festival in Dubai.

On the second day, music clips were shown.  The judges found it difficult to choose which entry is the best among the rest.  Out of 20, 3 works were awarded as the best music clips.  Dubaifilm, as the main sponsor and event organizer, also agreed to the judges’ decision and conducted interviews after every gap from their correspondent, stating different point of view regarding the festival.

“Our attempt was to kick start a relationship with other players in the industry.  We truly believe that by working together, we can create a more cohesive industry and provide better value to our advertising clients and also, we hope that in the second festival, we can attract professionals in media and film industry not only locally but internationally as well”, said Dubaifilm management.

Dubaifilm will be having a 2nd International Video Commercial Film Festival on March 2008. Date and place will be announced later.

Castanet dance group has been performing successfully for 8 years in international dance shows under the direction of Ms.Marianna Mamyan. With her leadership and effort of young, talented individuals they completed the open championship of Armenia held in Yerevan in March 2006 as well as the open international championship in Tbilisi, Georgia and took first place in more than one category.

The art of dance has existed as long as mankind has roamed the earth. We can only imagine how dances look like in pre-historic times but in modern times, dance is considered both as an art and entertainment.
